Sound absorption at Audi H6/H7 building
At the company headquarters in Ingolstadt, Audi Real Estate GmbH are erecting a new administration building with staff canteen and cafeteria.
The expanding business of Audi during the last few years has created the necessity of investing in new office space at the company headquarters. The architects of pbr Rohling AG Magdeburg/ Osnabrück are responsible for the planning and construction supervision. Drees & Sommer Munich are in charge of the project management. MERO Floor Systems were awarded the contract for delivery and installation of approx. 55,000 m2 access floor. The non-flammable access floor system Mero Type 6 will be installed in two sections of the building.
Since the ceiling will function as a radiation surface for the thermal activation of the concrete core, the installation of false ceilings is not an option. All supply and disposal lines, electrical cables, telephone and data lines must be placed in the hollow space of the access floors with an elevation of approx. 30 cm.
The remarkable thing about this project is the acoustically effective floor structure with a sound absorption coefficient alpha-w of 0.50. In order to achieve this, the diameters of the bore holes, the number of bore holes in each panel, the
rear-lining of acoustic fleece, and the covering on top of the panels were carefully coordinated. More than half of the total office space will be provided with this type of floor system, which will be a step towards good working
The completion of the project has been scheduled for the third quarter of 2016.
